Where do employers and job candidates meet?

CareerXroads Finds Out in Annual Source of Hires Study

CareerXroads releases its 10th Annual Sources of Hire (SOH) Study – a snapshot of how large, highly-competitive, high-profile firms find their employees. Tracking and monitoring the sources of actual hires tells companies where to dedicate their hiring resources and tells job seekers where to direct their efforts.

Even in today’s economy, companies spend significant effort and money chasing quality job candidates and then invest time keeping those candidates interested, screening and selecting them. With that investment, it’s worth noting that:

  • Nearly 65% of all openings are filled through internal movement and referrals.
  • Job boards are not dead. Collectively, companies attribute 24.9% of external hires to job boards.
  • Social media’s impact is growing – indirectly and especially among the sources we label Direct Sourcing.
